Q:8 Water temperature too hot?

Make sure that the temperature dial is not set too high. If it is, you can turn the temperature dial counter-clockwise to attain cooler temperatures.

Another cause for this could be restrictions in the plumbing. You would need to verify the heater’s inlet filter screen, faucet aerators, showerheads and make sure these are clear of debris. Proper flow on the outlet side of the heater also needs to be checked, with the hot water pipe disconnected. Maximum flow rates for each unit are: AE115 - 2.3gpm, AE125 - 3.5gpm.

If the inlet water temperature is too warm, you would have to make sure that the heater is being fed with cold water only. PowerStar Tankless Water Heaters are not designed for preheated water or recirculation applications. Also, increase flow rate wherever possible and it also may be necessary to replace low flow showerheads and aerators with higher flowing.
